The KARVE Journal

In short: practical guides from the KARVE team on reformer Pilates pricing in London, how reformer compares with Transformer Pilates, and what beginners should know — each dated and updated as things change.

Training advice, studio news and wellness insights from the KARVE team — how to get more from your Transformer Pilates practice, in and out of the studio.

Every guide here is written by the team behind our London clubs in Kensington, Chelsea and Victoria. Expect practical answers to the questions we hear most — how reformer Pilates compares with the KARVE Transformer, what classes cost across London and how to judge value, and what to expect before your first session. New to the method? Start with the first-timer guide or the reformer Pilates overview, then come back here to go deeper.

Comparing studios or weighing up memberships? The London pricing guide breaks down what actually drives the cost of reformer Pilates, and the reformer vs Transformer explainer settles the naming confusion most first-timers hit. Each guide shows its publication date, and we update them as classes, clubs and prices evolve.

Before you read — common questions

Do I need experience to start reformer Pilates?+

No — the springs scale the resistance to you, classes mix first-timers with regulars, and every KARVE class is led by an instructor certified in the method. Start with the first-timer guide.

What should I wear to my first class?+

Tight, comfortable clothes and grip socks — socks are required on the machine and available to buy in studio.

How do I book a class?+

Through the live schedule — book with a single class credit, a class pack or a membership. Credits work across all UK KARVE clubs.
