Frequently asked questions
How do I book my first KARVE class?
What should I expect from my first class?+
Our 50-minute class is performed on our custom-made, resistance-based Transformer machines. Each class starts with a warm-up, followed by a full-body high-intensity workout, and finishes with a stretch and a mindfulness session for a full reset. Our instructors are always there to motivate and lead the way. New to KARVE? Our first-timer guide covers everything before you arrive.
What should I wear to class?+
Wear tight, comfortable, sweat-wicking clothing — loose clothes can get in the way of your movements. Grip socks are required for safety and available to buy in our studios.
Are there any class rules worth knowing?+
Arrive 10–15 minutes early to check in (first-timers must be on the Transformer 5 minutes before the start for the safety introduction). Grip socks are required, and for everyone’s safety no entry is permitted once a class has started.
What is your class cancellation policy?+
All classes are subject to a 12-hour cancellation policy. Cancel at least 12 hours before the start time and your credit is returned; cancel later, or no-show, and the credit is forfeited (unlimited members incur a late-cancel or no-show fee). Full details are in our Terms.
How do I book a class?+
Create a free KARVE account, open the schedule, choose your studio — Kensington, Chelsea or Victoria — and reserve your class time online. You can manage or change bookings any time from your account.
What happens if a class is full?+
Join the waitlist when you book. If a space becomes available, KARVE will notify you through your account or booking communications.
Why are your arrival and cancellation policies so firm?+
Because small class sizes mean every space matters. Classes begin exactly on time — first-timers get a short safety introduction on the Transformer, and for everyone’s safety no entry is permitted once a class has started. Cancel or move a booking up to 12 hours ahead and your credit simply returns to your account. The policies exist to protect the quality of every session for every member.
What are the booking, cancellation and late-entry rules?+
Book through the live schedule or your account. You can cancel or move any booking up to 12 hours before class and the credit returns to your account automatically; cancelling inside 12 hours — or not attending — forfeits that credit. Arrive at least 5 minutes early: classes start exactly on time, and once the studio doors close entry is no longer possible, so the class isn’t disrupted.
How do memberships and class packs work?
Can I use a class package at another KARVE location?+
Yes — your membership and class packs work across all UK KARVE clubs, so you can train wherever suits you.
What membership and class pack options are there?+
Choose flexible class packs with no commitment, or a monthly membership — from Maintain (4 classes a month) up to Unlimited access across all UK clubs. Compare options on our Membership & Passes page.
What are the KARVE studios like?
Do clubs have changing rooms, showers or lockers?+
Yes — every KARVE location has private changing rooms with premium body-care products, showers and lockers, so you can arrive, train and refresh.
Where are your London studios?+
We have three London clubs: Kensington (198 Kensington High St, W8 7RG), Chelsea (370 King’s Rd, SW3 5ET) and Victoria (Unit 2, 123 Buckingham Palace Rd, SW1W 9SH) — each with its own KARVE Café serving speciality coffee, matcha and functional shakes.
What can I expect from the KARVE team?+
Every class is led by an instructor certified in KARVE’s own Transformer Pilates method, and every club has a front-of-house team at the café counter. If anything about your visit wasn’t right, tell us — email hello@karve.club or call your club directly and the team will put it right.
What is a Transformer Pilates class like?
Which machines do you use in your studios?+
Every class is performed on the custom-built KARVE Transformer — our own resistance-based reformer, designed in-house to deliver smooth resistance, precise control and full-body activation. You’ll only find it in KARVE clubs.
Do you offer beginner classes?+
Yes. Our Classic format is designed for anyone seeking a challenge, whatever your level, and our instructors guide you through every movement. First-timers should arrive 10–15 minutes early for a short safety introduction — see our Beginners page for everything you need to know.
Should I attend class if I’m pregnant?+
Please consult your doctor before attending, and let your instructor know before class so they can support you. If you’re in any doubt about your fitness to exercise, seek medical advice first.
What is Transformer Pilates?+
Transformer Pilates is KARVE’s signature 50-minute workout, combining reformer Pilates, strength training and mindful movement on our custom-built Transformer machines. It’s low-impact, full-body and scalable to every level.
